Occine

Our own label. Heavyweight basics with quiet references to the films in the magazine.

Amsterdam, Netherlands, Since 2026

Occine started as a film magazine and the label came second, which is the wrong way round for a clothing brand and is the reason it exists at all. Five thousand films catalogued, one a week written up properly, and a readership that kept asking the same question: where do you buy the shirt.

The label is deliberately small. Heavyweight cotton, boxy cuts, prints that reference the films in the magazine without spelling them out. Nothing is designed to be recognised across a room. If you have to explain the reference, the print has failed.

Production runs are short and repeated rather than dropped and retired. A tee that sells stays in the catalogue and gets made again, which is less exciting than a limited run and considerably better for anyone who wanted a large and found it gone.

The rest of the shop is other people's work. Occine buys from independent makers on the same terms it would want as a brand: paid on delivery, no exclusivity clauses, and a page like this one that says who made it and where.
