The British Film Institute publishes what the market alone would not: silent cinema, documentary history, British independents, and the Flipside series of overlooked UK oddities. Editions come with the most thorough booklets in the business.

Discs are Region B, often dual format with a DVD copy included. The BFI shop on London's Southbank remains one of Europe's best physical film stores in its own right.

Buying in Europe: Order from UK retailers or the BFI's own shop; almost the entire catalogue is Region B and plays on any European player.
